CEOs from all over the world recognized
SALT LAKE CITY – Cariloha CEO, Jeff Pedersen, has been announced as one of the winners in the prestigious CEO World Awards in the CEOs of the Year category. The coveted annual CEO World Awards program encompasses the world’s best in leadership, innovation, organizational performance, new products and services, CEO case studies, and customer satisfaction programs from every major industry in the world. Organizations from all over the world are eligible to submit nominations including public and private, for-profit and non-profit, largest to smallest and new start-ups.
Jeff Pedersen is the Founder, Owner and CEO of PW Companies, parent company of international retail brands, Del Sol and Cariloha, which are found in more than 150 free-standing Del Sol and Cariloha stores worldwide, primarily in the world’s major cruise ship ports-of-call.
Cariloha, which specializes in apparel, accessories, bedding, and bath goods made from bamboo, one of the most renewable resources in the world, and Del Sol manufactures and retails clothing and accessories that change colors with sunlight. Starting out with only a few employees, Jeff took Cariloha from an idea in 2007, with zero dollars and zero stores, to 3 stores and just under $1 million in 2008 to 41 stores in 12 countries with more than $25 million in sales and growing today. Cariloha is now the only multi-store retailer in the world to provide an entire store experience that’s completely merchandised with products made from bamboo. Since 2000, Jeff has built and grown Del Sol to become the largest retailer of color-changing products in the world with more than 10,000 SKUs and 100 store locations in 25 countries, and one of the most highly promoted merchants onboard Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess, Disney, Celebrity, and Norwegian Cruise Lines.
More than 30 judges from a broad spectrum of industry voices from around the world and over 200 CEOs participated. Their average scores determined the 2013 CEO World Award winners.
“It’s an honor to be named a winner by CEO World Awards for this esteemed industry and peer world recognition,” said Pedersen. “Receiving this award is a testament to our company’s commitment to grow and expand into new markets and to develop outstanding products that cater to our customer’s needs and interests.”
Established in 2007, Cariloha is the only retailer in the world to provide an entire store experience that’s completely outfit with merchandise made of bamboo. The product line features an exclusive collection of apparel, accessories, bedding and bath goods and more all made from bamboo. Cariloha’s soft, breezy bamboo goods were first sold in three, full stores in Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Cozumel, Mexico; and St. Thomas, USVI. Since the first three stores in 2008, Cariloha has already opened stores in 12 countries and continues to grow. Cariloha has quickly become one of the fastest-growing merchants promoted on board Carnival, Celebrity, Disney, Princess, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines. Today, thanks to an ever‐growing, rich supply of bamboo, Cariloha continues to offer an exclusive collection of products, all enjoying the strength, soft touch, and green ‘footprint’ of this renewable resource.
